The compression runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your computer. No signup, no upload, no tracking.

PNG is a lossless format, which limits how much this tool can compress it. The browser’s PNG encoder may use different compression filters than the tool that created the original file, which sometimes produces a smaller file. For significant size reduction from a PNG, consider converting to JPG (if you do not need transparency) or WebP (if you do).

When PNG compression helps

PNGs exported from design tools (Figma, Sketch, Photoshop) are often not optimally compressed because the export prioritizes speed over file size. Re-encoding through the browser’s PNG encoder can shave 10 to 30 percent off these files. Screenshots from Windows and macOS are also often unoptimized. For photos stored as PNG, converting to JPG or WebP will almost always produce a dramatically smaller file.
