Convert BMP to JPG without uploading your file
BMP files are uncompressed and huge. Convert to JPG in your browser to shrink them for sharing, email, or web use.
The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your computer. No signup, no upload, no tracking.
JPG uses lossy compression to produce files that are often 10 to 50 times smaller than the original BMP. Use the quality slider above to balance file size against visual fidelity.
What is BMP?
BMP (Bitmap) is the native uncompressed image format on Windows. It stores every pixel at full color depth with no compression, which makes files very large. A 1920×1080 BMP is about 6 MB, while the same image as a JPG is typically under 500 KB. BMP is rarely used for sharing or web publishing because of the file size, but it is still produced by some older Windows applications, scanners, and screenshot tools.
