Compress WebP without uploading your file

Squeeze more compression out of a WebP image. Runs in your browser.

The compression runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your computer. No signup, no upload, no tracking.

Use the quality slider to control the tradeoff. WebP at 80% is visually indistinguishable from 92% for most images but produces a noticeably smaller file. If the original WebP was already compressed at a low quality setting, re-encoding will not improve it and may increase the file size.

When to compress WebP

WebP files exported from image editors or CDN pipelines are sometimes encoded at higher quality than necessary. Re-encoding at a lower quality setting reduces bandwidth for web pages. If you are optimizing a batch of WebP images for a website, try 75 to 85% and compare visually.
