Make a PDF Smaller for Email

An email attachment limit can turn a simple PDF into a chore. Scans, signed forms, and image-heavy exports often land above 20 or 25 MB even when the document is only a few pages.

Drop the PDF below to make a smaller copy for email. The compressor runs in your browser. The PDF never leaves your computer.

What gets smaller?

Large PDFs are usually large because they contain high-resolution page images, scans, or embedded photos. This tool can re-render image-only pages at a lower image quality while preserving text pages when possible.

If the PDF is already mostly text and vector graphics, there may be little to compress. The tool favors keeping the document readable over forcing a smaller but damaged file.

How to choose quality

Use a higher quality value for documents the recipient may print or zoom into. Use a lower value when the goal is only to get a scan under an email limit. If the result is still too large, try again with a lower setting.

Private documents stay private

PDFs often contain contracts, medical records, tax forms, invoices, and signatures. This page compresses locally instead of uploading the file to a remote PDF service.
